Thomas and Percy's Easter Celebration Exclusive Gift Pack

If you didn't already get this for your kiddos to throw in their Easter basket then head of to Target because they're half off and REALLY fun! I think I had more fun decorating this than my little one. lol! Plus even without the sale it's a great deal - 2 wooden trains (Thomas and Percy) and 2 more plain wooden trains to decorate with stickers! I'm considering going back and buying up the last ones to paint some day. Very cute! (Sale price is $7.50 and I just saw some on Ebay selling for $20. ??? lol!)

The Time Traveler's Heiney... I Mean WIFE!

"Please, make her stop talking about my butt..."

So I went to see The Time Traveler's Wife today. Which should have been named The Time Traveler's Heiney! Of course I'm not complaining because, hello, it's Eric Bana and he has a mighty fine heiney. It was good though, nothing amazing as far as time travel movies go. I mean we have the obvious questions going through our heads when we watch this one. Why didn't he go back and do this or that? and If he knew about this or that then why didn't he do something else? Yadda yadda. Plus the confusion of when and what and how he knows or doesn't know something. Like, if he goes back and sees one scene many times, then wouldn't he have also gone back and seen other scenes multiple times? So he would have already known the things he was finding out along the way... and did I mention his butt? It's a real shame that his clothes couldn't time travel with him. A real shame! I mean I had to sit there and endure this for 2 hours... a bucket of popcorn... and Eric's butt... it was pure torture I tell you!!!

Anyhow, it was a little slow and I think the fact that the previews now days give away too much of the movie... I just knew too much going into it. I would be curious to see how people who have read the book liked the movie. Did it stay true to the book? Did they describe Henry's nakedness properly? Did they mention the roundness? The cheeks? Oh ok, ok, I'll stop. I wish Gerard Butler would have gone out for this role!!!! Wooooo! Talk about cheeks! :p

Diapers on Sale at Target

If you're looking for HUGE savings on Huggies or Pampers, make sure you swing by Target and check the end isle, clearance shelves. I happened to stop and check out some of the BIG boxes and noticed they were HALF OFF or more! Their big boxes of wipes are also marked half off but only in the clearance shelves. (Also print out some coupons before you go!)

I got a box of Huggies Little Movers - 88 ct - Size 5 - for $14. They were over half off the original price! The other box I grabbed was Pampers Baby Dry - 116 ct - Size 5 - for $20. Not bad!!!

And in the words of Daddy, when I tried to tell him about my great deals... "That boy can do a lot of poopin' now!" ... Probably should have left off that last tidbit huh? :p

Kidco Convertible Crib Rail at BabiesRUs

My little man has official transitioned to a toddler bed. Woe is me, my baby is growing up! :( His crib converts to a toddler bed and then a full sized bed but the only problem is that we never bothered to buy the safety rail for the toddler bed part! (We did get the parts for the full sized conversion tho.) So anyway, we searched and searched and found this universal type rail to attach to the front - instead of just having it open like a day bed. It's working perfectly for us because there is just enough room for him to get out but not enough that he will roll out. Plus it is super sturdy and doesn't budge once it's in place. Hubby's only complaint was that the directions stunk - some pictures to go along with the written instructions would have been helpful.

The transition was so smooth and his routine hasn't even been disturbed and I really think it's because we were able to keep his surroundings the same. I only had to remind him a few times, right after I tucked him in the first night to stay put. Now he even waits for me to get him up in the morning! I was so worried about this change and really dreading it but so far so good! He even hits the button to play his music and goes back to sleep for about a half hour in the morning, just like he did in his crib.

So if anyone is like me and has the convertible bed but forgot to get the rail - check this out. I'm actually glad we didn't get the manufacturer rail because this one has more coverage. It's not the prettiest thing ever but it is unfinished so you could even stain it to match the crib. Plus the rail easily detaches so you can slide it under the crib when people come over or something. It's the ONLY universal safety rail that I've found for convertible cribs. And I didn't have to wait on crazy delivery times since it was in store already. It would have taken 16 weeks for the rail from the manufacturer! Crazy! Especially when your little one climbs out of the crib one morning and you're in a panic over what to do. lol We were able to run to the store the next day and get this.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great weekend!!! :)

Kansas City - Kid Friendly Activities?

We're in KC this week and wondering if anyone has any kid friendly activities to share for this time of year?

When the weather is nice we have plenty of options but it seems like with this cooler weather we're stuck. We've hit the bookstores, mall playgrounds, indoor bouncy places, Bass Pro Shop (for this fish! lol), tons of restaurants, etc.

What else is fun to do???
